comment spam

Saturday, October 23rd, 2004

My comment spam is out. of. control. We’re talking around 100 a day. My blacklist is getting broader and broader, but it is just ridculous. Still, I love hearing what you have to say, so I don’t want to turn it off. I’m using an old version of MT-Blacklist [...]

Equal Pay for Women

Friday, October 22nd, 2004

Found another interesting CNN article today, this time about the pay scale for women. Shocker of shockers, we’re still underpaid. And this is predicting that it will continue to be that way until approximately 2050. Cool …. shortly after I retire. Lovely.
Stuff like this makes me stop and think about WHY [...]

Sick Podling

Friday, October 22nd, 2004

So there appears to be something dreadfully wrong with my Podling (a.k.a. iPod Mini). I am very, very distressed. It seemed to be losing it’s charge quite quickly last week. Wednesday night, I plugged it into charge overnight, and I got the happy charging battery, but when I woke up, it was [...]

I’ll dance to the beat of ANY drummer …

Thursday, October 21st, 2004

Does anyone out there know someone who can follow nominal middle eastern drumming patterns (I can handle just a beledi, even) who might be willing to play a Wednesday - Saturday gig in November? Vote in Texas

Wednesday, October 20th, 2004

Charles has put together a really great, no-nonsense website on the upcoming election for voters in Travis, Harris, and Williamson counties. Most of the candidate info is for Travis, but there is lots of other information. Check it out:
http://vote.bohemianyuppie.net
Someone insanely cool must be hosting it for him. ;^)

teabag quotes

Friday, October 8th, 2004

So I have started drinking lots of Good Earth Green Tea (which is divine tasting and still good for me) and every tea bag has a quote on the little paper tab.
Given the ongoing presidential and vice presidential debates, I found today’s most appropriate:
“Since a politician never believes what he says, he is quite [...]

busy week

Sunday, October 3rd, 2004

Steve and I made the trek down to Galveston this weekend to go to his cousin Jim’s wedding. They got married aboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship the Rhapsody, and it was a really neat boat! We spent the day Saturday being attacked by mosquitos, praying the rain would hold off, and exploring [...]
