A colleague sent me a link today to an article on SF Gate on the top ten lies of Web 2.0. I find the list funny, in that sad but true sort of way. Why did I have to pick such a bubble-prone industry?
I will say however that for every “shinyclicky” app and social network that has come out of the Web 2.0 movement, there’s been a Flickr, Basecamp, Writely, Wikipeida, or Google Maps API; applications that are relevant, useful, user-friendly, and that make the web that much more engaging, enjoyable, and informative.
I’m willing to live with that.
Maybe for every 10 or 100. Doubt half the apps developed were worthwhile. But I might just be cynical.
