Let there be internet. And there was internet. And Kat saw that it was good.
So she posted.
We have just finished day three at the new house. Two and a half, really, since the truck lugged all our stuff over here at about noon on Monday. I am proud of the amount we have already accomplished — the master bed/bath are mostly settled, the living room has been cleared of all but three boxes and the furniture is laid out so there’s a place to sit, and the kitchen is entirely unpacked (save some wedding crystal) thanks to my amazing husband.
Tonight we saw some good friends off on an adventure — they are moving to San Francisco. I will miss them a lot. I have only known them a short time, but their friendship has always been thought-provoking, engaging, entertaining, and sincere. Safe travels to you!
Back to house stuff, I guess, which is always on my mind these days. I splurged on new bedding for the master bedroom. Overall, I am pleased with it, though for it to REALLY look good I need to actually starch and iron the duvet cover, which is less than appealing. I faced that task after approximately six loads of laundry, so needless to say, it didn’t get done.
We ordered a new rug for the living room. Oddly enough, it wasn’t the one I thought I was getting — the palatte is much lighter, more “persian styling meets santa fe colors” — but it is perfect for our stuff. Lucky accident? A God thing? Regardless, we have decided to keep it, since it works so well.
New patio furniture, too. And it too is just the right color. What can I say? I can definitely pick ‘em.
We’ve taken a few photos of the mostly-completed rooms. They’re a bit blurry, but maybe I’ll try to get some sharper ones up online …
Off to shop blinds. I love the internet.
Haven’t visited blogs in a long while… thanks for the links.
Hope to see pics of the new house soon… sounds like it’s coming together quite nicely!
