Steve and I have been running around town today. We’ve picked out our sofas and just need to order them, and we spent lots of time at the new house taping paint samples to walls. I never knew there were soooo many shades of white. Ugh, I am amazingly far over my head.

For now, we’re going to leave the living room its current color and just paint all the trim a simple, creamy white. After that, we’ll see how it looks. I think it will help a lot with the … pinkness … if we get rid of the mauve trim. I think if i get a good area rug like this one (I have a small version of it and I love it) I can tie all the existing colors in with our current stuff. We’re definitely going to paint the master bedroom, though. I think I’m going to jump on the aqua and chocolate bandwagon that is so au courant right now. I happen to LOVE the combo, our current bedding works with it, and it’s easy to find things in that scheme.

As far as the couches go, we’re going to go with one at Copenhagen called the “Anna” or the “Florence” (either way, it is model 1906).

We’re planning as of right now to do the sofa in sage green microfiber and buy two chairs in a creamy/stone color. I think it will look really nice. I can’t believe I might actually own a real sofa. And a new one at that. Wow! I feel so grown up!

Now if only we could squeeze out the cash for the coffee table we’re in love with. Eh well.
