What if the hokey-pokey really is what it’s all about?

So I’m debating the possibilities of using WordPress as a CMS for a friend of mine, to make updating her site easier. Has anyone played with this? I found a thread on WordPress support. Maybe I just need to do some experimentation. The site needs a blog in one section, a photo gallery in another, but just needs a content editor for the other pages. Hmm.

One Response to “WordPress as a CMS”

  1. I’ve recently looked into “general” CMS apps, rather than just blog-oriented ones. There is a lot of stuff out there, but most are either bare-bones or have a very steep learning curve.

Recently I came across Website Baker and I think it’s the perfect app for managing a simple, relatively static site. I’d use WB for the overall site, and then use dedicated apps for the blog (WordPress?) and the image gallery (Gallery or Coppermine or Singapore, or maybe something Flicker-based).
