What if the hokey-pokey really is what it's all about?

Lobster Banditos

February18

Lobster BanditosThe aforementioned lobster article also made me think at once of the classic Swedish Chef piece where he is trying to put a lobster in his pot, only to have the lobster heroically recscued by the Lobster Banditos. I remember this sketch vividly – I’m not sure if it was the mildly distressing feeling I got watching the Chef try to boil the lobster, or the impressively loud lobster-sized pistols the Banditos were toting.

Turns out it was the Madeline Kahn episode in Season 2 that also included the immortal question “Can frogs tap-dance?” The song “Happy Feet” that answered said question has been a staple around my house for a *very* long time. As a kid, we owned both Mupppet Show Cast Albums (records made from the first and second seasons). And I knew every word. Didn’t you??

I remember that skit!!! The muppets are brilliant. Didn’t have the record. I did have Disney’s Robin Hood (“Robin Hood and Little John running through the forest…Oow-da-la-li, oow-da-la-li, golly what a day!”) Oh, I LOVED that record.
