About

I clap for faeries.

Quote from Charles regarding my new choice of hair color:

“Yep - you’re kinda like a darker version of the red ghost in Pac-Man.”

Thanks for the support, man. ;)

Seriously though, I got it dyed a yummy auburn color, and I’m digging it. I’ve had nothing but compliments, except from my mother, which is about what I was expecting (love you, mom).

It means I have to wear makeup, and that part kinda sucks, but hopefully I will get to where it doesn’t take twenty minutes. Still, I’m not at all used to being this high maintenance. Oy.

Nevertheless, this is a grand adventure! And an excuse to shop. Woo. I’ve never dyed my hair before, so I’m feeling very bold and daring these days.

That actually is a big part of my New Year’s resolution - to do more things that scare me or make me nervous. So I’m going to get my butt in shape enough to learn to surf this summer. Even if I just skim around close to shore (and it will probably take me DAYS to get that far), at least I will have had the experience. Snowboarding is also way up there on my list, and Steve and I are talking about forgoing Christmas presents next year and taking ourselves to Colorado instead.

Then there’s that damn size 10 dress I’m still not back in to. But I’m closer, at least. Maybe another year and some more concentrated effort will get me there. But this is the time of year that I absolutely HATE going to the gym, because of all the other brats with New Year’s resolutions. So back to videos and magazines I guess. I am really wishing I had a bench at home. Not a full blown weights-attached thing, but just a padded bench that I could use for stuff. Is that too over the top jock?? But that is the one thing I don’t have that makes working out at home difficult.

  2. I want to see pictures of the hair! Auburn sounds fun! I still have distant memories of dying my hair pink in your parents old house in Houston back when we were 18 yr old college freshman. Oh my god! Has it really been that long???? Craziness. Back to the current topic: congrats on the hair!
