Starting with the up note, I found this quote on ESPN, and it made me smile:
After more than 80 years of being stuffed into their lockers by the Yankees, after eight decades of receiving atomic wedgies, after generations of having sand-kicked in their faces and their girlfriends stolen away — and most importantly — after completing the most extraordinary comeback in baseball history, the Boston Red Sox have finally overcome their hated nemesis to reach the World Series.
I am so proud of the BoSox!! I have never watched as much baseball as I have in the past week. And they’ve been really good games. It is also cool to know that I went to see a Sox game at Fenway the year they went to the World Series … even if they did lose to Baltimore. *cough*
In other news, CNN just announced that Staff Sgt. Frederick was given 8 years in prison. I think it’s good that he’s being charged, and the sentence isn’t laughable. But at the same time, the whole thing still reeks of “Desperately Seeking Scapegoat” to me. Call me cynical. Or uninformed. Or whatever. Maybe they’ll surprise me and clean up the system. But somehow I doubt it. Intelligence is pretty brutal, given the name. How ironic. *sigh*
Been checking out WordPress lately. Thinking of making the move from Moveable Type. It has some annoying quirks, and the lack of multiblog (the ability to run two blogs off of one code install) is a real sticking point to me. Still, Wisteria isn’t getting any more action, and who can say if I’ll ever start anything else?? It has some GREAT features that I love, and it’s easy to tweak on your own if you can code. We’ll see.
