What if the hokey-pokey really is what it’s all about?

Sorry I am making your life difficult, Stepan

Okay, not really.

New glittery plum-lipstick pink iPod mini is a treasure. I am in love love love. All my contacts, my calendar, solitaire, and still room for almost 1000 songs. It’s INSANE. I can already tell that iTunes is going to be quite perilous for me, what with the whole 99 cents-a-song thing.

Weekend was good — I ended up getting Friday off, an unexpected and very welcome surprise. Of course, I spent about half of it fixing the flat tire which I was lucky enough to get as I pulled out of the parking garage to leave work. I am actually capable of changing my own tire (it is very easy on the VW), but it is so nice of cute biomedical boys to stop and help that I just have to allow them to play hero. And I really do appreciate it. Heh.

Sunday I spent most of the day shopping for my mother’s birthday. I don’t know if everyone has as much trouble shopping for their parents as I seem to. They have everything they could possibly need, and if they want something, they go buy it, leaving us with a very short list of items that we are somewhat confident will be well-received. Once upon a time, I gave my mom a Caswell-Massey sandalwood candle that she loved. However, she dropped it. Naturally, since I had finally found a gift that my mother liked, Caswell-Massey no longer makes them. Since then, I have been on a mission to find her some good, softly-scented sandalwood candles. I got the Trapp ones this time - hopefully she will find them appealing. The last one I got her was from Target and was so strongly scented that you got a headache just walking into the room. Oops. I never thought it was possible to have too much sandalwood. I was wrong.

Spent far too much time at work yesterday playing with the dookyweb avatar generator. Most of my friends now have personalized AIM icons. Just what you always wanted, right??

The paint fumes in my office are TERRIBLE. I have the gut feeling that if I sit here with no ventilation I’ll be sick before the end of the day. Joy. It would be easy to get ventilation, except they’ve painted the windows shut (hence the fumes) …

I love UT.
