About

Miss Piggy is my feminist idol.

Another entry without a title. Here I am, bucking the system.

Or something.

Busy weekend! We COMPLETELY shocked Jen on Friday night — her birthday was Thursday, and her mom threw a surprise party for her. We all went, sang for Jen, and ate divine manicotti.

I also saw Underworld for the first time this weekend. Now, I realize I am in the minority here, and maybe it’s because we watched it on DVD and so were able to discuss it amongst ourselves, but I REALLY DUG IT. Great flick. Yes, the head-slicing thing was cheezy at the end. But the twist actually surprised me and I loved the look and feel of it — awesome costuming and sets. The plot assumed you were intelligent enough to figure it out, and it held my interest. So I repeat, yay.

What else? My iPod Mini has shipped! It is in Shanghai somewhere. Goody goody — will let you know what I think when it arrives. I went to Fry’s and played with one on Sunday. Tee-hee. This will be COOL.

Steve and I filled out an application for the apartment at Riata. I have reservations, but I am pleased to have the decision made. I can give notice on April 1 without stress. I will miss my pretty townhome, but the apartment is a much more sound decisions.

I will be filing for a tax extension this year. I can already tell.

  1. There was a plot twist?

I think the UNDERWORLD sequel has been greenlit.

  2. Yes, there are TWO follow-up flicks in the works, it seems. A sequel and a prequel, both due out in 2005. As for the plot twist, the one I was referring to was (spoiler alert) the revelation that the werewolves were in fact enslaved by the vampires. It made for a good moment of internal churn where you realized that you’ve effectively been cheering for the “bad guys” all along. I always enjoy it when a movie, or any kind of story, blurs the edges of hero and villain. (end spoiler alert). I’m a little leery of the sequel, since the muddy incredible hulk look really didn’t do it for me. But we’ll see what they come up with. A prequel could be great, or a disaster.
