do I have to relinquish my scarf?
April21
I have a terrible confession to make.
It was not until Saturday night when we were all watching the CoS special features that I realized (and then only through Jen) that “Diagon Alley” = “Diagonally”.
I am a truly pathetic Harry Potter fan, I guess. Makes me wonder what else I’ve missed.

Well, that’s cool. I hadn’t realized that either! I don’t think you need to give up your scarf over it. I think it could mean that you were so into the world of Harry Potter that any cross-references to our own everyday life just escapes you….or something like that.
Nope, nope, definitely has to sacrifice the scarf. Maybe you could just toss that instead of the bouquet. Or surprise Steve with an especially large, furry garter.
I must admit, credit is not due to me. Ginger, I believe, is the one who came up with that. I was as much in the dark as you.
Ahhhhhhh! Consider me one of the slow ones too! How did I not catch that?!?
i was beginning to wonder what happened to you!
So did you also get that the dark, scary street in which Harry winds up is called “Nocturn Ally” or “nocturnally?” As in “night?” Get it?
And Flourish and Blott’s bookstore is funny because a flourish has to do with handwriting and you blot inkpens. And you use writing and pens to make written words, which often appear in books.
Sigh.
I must agree with Chuck; the scarf must go (and I like the idea of using it as a garter — imagine Steve’s shock when you reveal a large, brightly colored leg bandage for him to remove!).
I admit I never got “nocturnally”, but Flourish and Blott’s … that was easy.
