Here is the latest update, straight off harrypotter.com:

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Gary Oldman plays Sirius Black, the eponymous prisoner whose escape is thought to pose a great threat to Harry Potter; Michael Gambon plays the role of Professor Dumbledore, Hogwarts’ venerable headmaster; Timothy Spall portrays Peter Pettigrew, an old friend of Harry’s father, James Potter, from their days at Hogwarts; David Thewlis [pic] plays Professor Lupin, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor who harbors a mysterious secret; Pam Ferris [pic] plays Harry’s overbearing Aunt Marge; and Paul Whitehouse [pic] portrays Sir Caddogan, a Knight who becomes the temporary guardian of Gryffindor Tower.

And so it begins. Huzzah.

BTW, the DVD of Chamber of Secrets comes out April 11. DVD party at my place.

I have to admit, the book six title doesn’t grab me or leave me feverishly anticipating the book the way “Order of the Phoenix” did. It just seems … cumbersome somehow. I think it is interesting that the book six title was originally in the running as the title for “Chamber of Secrets”, and that CoS apparently holds some important keys to the resolution of the series. Lots of the critical pieces in book six were in fact originally slated for CoS – I will be curious to go back and read that book to see if I can glean any of the important info out of it (not that I’m obsessive or anything). The real question is … who is the HBP??

Okay, peeps. Because I love you, I’m trying to help. Casting for Goblet of Fire is all over and done with – the movie began filming in April of this year, I think. You can see the casting call info from last year here. If you live in the UK and are seriously interested in auditioning when OotP rolls around, I would run periodic searches for “Harry Potter casting call” on your favorite search engine. Or just call Leavesden Studios and ask for the information. Good luck.

You have to be a British citizen with a British accent to play in the films. If you’re from outside of the UK, sorry, but you have no chance. Jina Jay does not accept any body from outside the UK if you send a letter to the casting office.

The auditions would most likely be OPEN auditons, so you can come with or without any acting experience or an agent, and they’d probably be held in London, Covent Garden, at the Pineapple dance studios. Please note, they only hold ONE audition for the part to save time. In the unlikely even of the Casting Director not able to find a suiter for the part, they will hold more auditions in the same, or different places in the UK.

The auditions would probably be very early next year, or Christmas time this year.
